Good Shepherd Services is a nonprofit organization that helps vulnerable youth and families make a safe passage to self-sufficiency. The purpose of Good Shepherd Services is to keep youth from becoming disconnected from family, school and society. Good Shepherd Services surrounds at-risk youth with community while making available opportunities for members to forge a pathway to a promising future. For young people who cannot stay with their families, Good Shepherd Services provides superior quality foster care and residential programs.

Good Shepherd Services provides social services to at-risk New York City youth in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. The nonprofit organization has been assisting youth in New York City since 1857.

Richard Fields and The Fields Family Foundation has supported Good Shepherd Services for many years. In 2007, The Fields Family Foundation sponsored an event in conjunction with FAO Schwartz for 200 underprivileged kindergarten and first grade students from New York City schools to be treated to a Holiday party the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Holiday Party included breakfast, a puppet show, face painting, and a special session on the FAO Schwartz great piano. The children were also given the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and receive a personalized gift. The gifts were requested in letters by each child prior to the event and were provided by The Fields Family Foundation and FAO Schwartz.
